Privacy Policy

This website, theheirsofthehollow.com, is the official site for The Heirs of the Hollow by Armand Poblete. This policy explains what information is involved when you visit, subscribe to the newsletter, or contact the author.

Browsing the site

The site does not use accounts and does not set advertising or tracking cookies. It does not use web analytics.

Hosting and security

The site is hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers). Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses and request data to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Newsletter — Letters from the Hollow

If you subscribe, we collect your email address, your first name if you choose to give it, and a record of your consent. The newsletter is run through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS), which stores this information and sends the emails on our behalf.

• You will first receive a confirmation email. You are only subscribed after you click the link in it (double opt-in).
• We use your details only to send the newsletter — book announcements, folklore, behind-the-scenes stories and related news. We never sell or share your address with anyone else.
• Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect straight away, and Brevo keeps a record of it so you are not emailed again.
• Brevo records basic campaign statistics, such as whether an email was delivered, opened or a link clicked. This is a standard feature of email services and is used only to understand how the newsletter is received.
• Your details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

See Brevo's privacy policy.

Contact the Author

When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, chosen subject and message. They are sent privately to the author by email, through Brevo's transactional email service, so that he can read and reply to you. The website does not store your message in a database, and sending a message does not subscribe you to the newsletter.

To block spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks information about your browser and device to tell people from automated programs. Your IP address is also used briefly to limit how often messages can be sent. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy information.

Emails sent to addresses at theheirsofthehollow.com are forwarded to the author's inbox by Cloudflare Email Routing. Messages are kept in the author's email account for as long as needed to respond.

Fonts

Typography is loaded from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests font files from Google, which receives your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.

The Hollow Atlas map

The interactive map on The World page loads map tiles from OpenFreeMap, which receives your IP address and the map areas being viewed. Map data comes from OpenStreetMap.

Embedded videos

Videos are not loaded until you press play. When you do, the video is loaded from YouTube, and YouTube's own privacy policy applies.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email. You can also ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by writing to contact@theheirsofthehollow.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local data-protection law.

Links to other sites

This site links to retailers such as Amazon and to other websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and the newsletter is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
